Original web offer details & such: BOGO:  1st - $19.99 + $19.95 P&H. 2nd - $0.00 + $0.00 P&H. Sales tax:  Depends on state. Guarantee: 30-day minus P&H. Notes:

7th grade. I woke up one morning and it felt like I had an acorn in my eye. I tried rubbing it out but it just felt like it was pushing into my eye. I ran to the mirror to assess the damange and panicked:  it looked like a sticker burr was in my eye.

I ran to my mother who went, well I'll be, you grew a skin tag. And she still made me go to school before going to the doctor's office. It couldn't have been more embarrasing. The doctor froze it off for me, as he did for the one on my hand 4 years later but said that so long as they didn't develop in sensitive situations that I could do them myself with any over-the-counter product.

I wonder if he would include Tag Away into his recommendation

Let's see what kind of stuff is out there, first.

What Is Tag Away?

Skin Tag is a skin tag remover like the kind my doctor keeps telling me it's safe to get. It's a topical solution and has a propriety formula bases on Thuja occidentalis ( damned latin ) that is supposed to help skin tags fall off over time.

What is Thuja occidentalis

Wikipedia says it's typically used in cleansers, disinfectants, insecticides, liniments, room sprays and soft soaps. In the US we'd know it as Atlantic White Cedar.

How long does Tag Away take to work

They claim it should take 3-8 weeks for it to work, though you should probably bank on, around and probably over 8 pending on the tag's girth.

Benefits, Claims & Features

According to trytagaway.com, Tag Away (official affiliate link) claims the following features and benefits:

  • all natural
  • no scarring
  • no pain or chemicals
  • all skin types
  • dries and falls away

Does Tag Away Work? Review of Complaints, Frauds, Rip-Offs, Scams...

Order Process:  We found a couple cases where people got double charged - make sure you never push the back button after submitting credit card info. We also found a couple of spots where people were upset at the 30-day guarantee because the product is supposed to take up to 8 weeks to work. As much as that sucks, there should be signs of the product working within that timeframe. If you see nothing around day 28, it doesn't look drier or feel looser then by all means, call. Otherwise, 30-days is pretty standard in the industry.

Props to them for actually making the price point so the second one is absolutely free.

Product Performance:  We've seen and heard a lot of mixed results. We read a couple where people said it took three weeks but for the majority of those who had success it took 8 weeks or longer. Welcome to the logic portion of the Tag Away review:  the bigger the skin tag, the longer it will take for it to work.

The other complain we hear is that it smells like Death himself died. Ick. Maybe light a candle? We've got nothing on that but that's what we'd do.

Final Thoughts - What to Expect...Perhaps

We expect that not all skin tags are the same shape, size, age and attached to the body the same way. Those with bigger attachments will take longer. I've had a couple for twenty years that would probably sue me in court for squatters rights. I would consult my physician before I made any decisions. Especially so he can confirm that what I have is a skin tag. Sometimes, scarily, they're a a mole.

With so many acne products out and about, on television, on the shelves, at the impulse counter, next to the Redbox and vending machines...It's enough to make one wonder as to why the competition is so fierce. Is it because no single product works well enough? Or is it because people have a hard time telling which product works for them. Maybe Neutrogena is onto something with the SkinID.
