Original offer details & such: 1 for $19.99 + $6.99 S&H. BOGO: 1 for $6.99 S&H. Includes: Free Surprise Gift (don't know it but expect another TELEBrands product!). Sales tax: CA, NJ. Guarantee: 30-day (minus S&H).
Damnit! We were hoping it was a Slap Chop. Why? Because we were hoping we could do a comparison page. But as it is, the Slice-O-Matic is not a Slap Chop. Why would we think that since one has "slice" in the name and the other has "chop" in it? Because we weren't thinkin', we were hopin'.
We're holding our reservations until we finish researching. This is from TELEBrands so there's going to be heavy traffic for this. And it's got a second S&H price on the BOGO (Buy One, Get One) So we're intrigued to find out.
It's what it sounds like. Throw in a potato, get sliced tomatoes out the other side. Slice-O-Matic is made with a sturdy level that provides sufficient torque so instead of getting your fingers close to the blade, all you have to do is put it into a machine. Fruits, vegetables, and a few good pumps on the machine. It also comes with additional blades to chop - like a Slap Chop. But Slap Chop doesn't have a slice component. Yeah, we got a comparison in!
According to official product website SliceOMatic.com, your product claims the following features and benefits:
- slice thick and thin
- helpful for soups, stir-fry, stews, salds...
- can cut many fruits / vegetables in less time
- comes with surprise TELEBrands gift
- 30-day guarantee (minus 2&H)
Order Process: It's a TELEBrands product so it comes with volume, and the occasional complaint. The couple we found were interesting. There's a concern that the Free gift came with S&H . We didn't see that price on the website and wonder if the complainer was mistaking the second S&H for the BOGO as the S&H for the Free Gift. They didn't post their receipt so we're not sure. If you find a similar issue like this, please let us know!
We also found a couple complaints where people were waiting on their order. If you're ordering, note that at the time of this review
has become a top ten sensation. When a product reaches these heights, 6 week time wait isn't unheard of. Be patient, they should get there. If it gets past 8 weeks and you're waiting, give them another call.
Product Performance: So far we haven't seen much in the way of performance complaints. We'll keep our ears peered but so far, so good. (UPDATE: 11/10/11)Ahhhh, about time the reviews got to video. We found the reviews to be mixed. The first one we found was from WCIU Chicago morning show, "Me & You in the Morning." They took it to the streets of Chicago to see what people thought. For the most part, the review of Slice-O-Matic's basic functions were positive:
The second review we liked was from WXIA 11 NBC out of Atlanta's news section, "Try It Before You Buy It." They took the machine a mother from the Atlanta suburb of Milton, Georgia who was hoping the Slice-O-Matic could be the cutting machine she was looking for to allow her 16-year-old autistc son the freedom to cut snacks on his own. For the basic stuff, they thought it did alright. But when it got to softer foods like tomatoes and the julienne device, they didn't find it as eash. Take a look:

Before I'd ever use a product like Dr. Ho's Back Belt, I would consult my chiropractor - who I haven't seen in awhile. What we found is that most people wouldn't take such an approach...
I would swear that the NutriBullet is just a Magic Bullet with a different plastic skin and fonts & iconography. I assume that if I want to make veggie smoothies I could just use a Magic Bullet, but apparently I can't. Or something like that. I'm still looking.
This is one of those times where my grandfather bought something he wanted to see on TV and it was a great idea. I went into the garage and click the switch when I realized the light-bulb didn't look like an ordinary light-bulb.
With so many acne products out and about, on television, on the shelves, at the impulse counter, next to the Redbox and vending machines...It's enough to make one wonder as to why the competition is so fierce. Is it because no single product works well enough? Or is it because people have a hard time telling which product works for them. Maybe Neutrogena is onto something with the SkinID.
Awesome Auger - Was It PitchMen's Billy Mays that Made it Awesome? Or was it Awesome Auger inventor Tommie Matasko and his inspiring story that lead to the Auger's invention? Please visit the As Seen on TV Life Summary Review and find out.
Before Vince came out with his copycat ShamWOW and his Time/Life operator headphones, there was a super-absorbent cloth that took care of the chills and spills your clumsy day created. And all you needed to know was that Billy Mays thought it was awesome.
