It's amazing the ways in which we celebrate history. We have parties. We sings songs. We write books upon books. We try to preserve the moment as best we can forever and all time. Pictures, mementos from the event and Chia pets.
Apparently, some of use one of America's more believed cultist obsessions to commemorate events. Like with the, "Proud to Be American," Chia Series, the "Freedom of Choice" series expounds upon political momentum in yet another Presidential election that could determine the next 50 years of this country's future. The question is...is it cheap or charming?
four of America's most celebrated heros, the Freedom of Choice American Chia series is...well, if you know what a chia pet is, you know what these are. Instead of looking like a lamb or a zen garden, these editions look like busts of American leaders. The most controversial one is, of course Barack Obama. The release of President Obama's chia caused quite a commotion when the first line of these products were released in 2009.(More on that in the
product performance section).
According to buypresidentialchia.com & americanchia.com, this series claims the following features and benefits:
Order Process: While we did find some complaints regarding the controversial product, we didn't find any regarding the order process. Apparently, if you don't have any cultural objections, you should be alright in ordering it.
Product Performance: Chia Obama came out shortly after the the inauguration of President Obama. People ended up having issues with the Chia Obama, stating that it was degrading and indecent and a cheap way to make a quick buck off a significant point in history. Thus, the product was pulled off the shelf for awhile. Here's a couple links to stories regarding this event:
The story made every major news outlet as well. Well, then there's this:
The new line of products hasn't cause as much o a stir. I guess one can only be so shocking for so long. That being said, online reaction has been fun to watch.

Before I'd ever use a product like Dr. Ho's Back Belt, I would consult my chiropractor - who I haven't seen in awhile. What we found is that most people wouldn't take such an approach...
I would swear that the NutriBullet is just a Magic Bullet with a different plastic skin and fonts & iconography. I assume that if I want to make veggie smoothies I could just use a Magic Bullet, but apparently I can't. Or something like that. I'm still looking.
This is one of those times where my grandfather bought something he wanted to see on TV and it was a great idea. I went into the garage and click the switch when I realized the light-bulb didn't look like an ordinary light-bulb.
With so many acne products out and about, on television, on the shelves, at the impulse counter, next to the Redbox and vending machines...It's enough to make one wonder as to why the competition is so fierce. Is it because no single product works well enough? Or is it because people have a hard time telling which product works for them. Maybe Neutrogena is onto something with the SkinID.

Before Vince came out with his copycat ShamWOW and his Time/Life operator headphones, there was a super-absorbent cloth that took care of the chills and spills your clumsy day created. And all you needed to know was that Billy Mays thought it was awesome.
