Everything old is new again. While we were researching we discovered that these flexible hoses tried to come out in the 1990s and weren't the most impressive performers. Now, they're coming back with vengence, right in time for the start of the growing season. But with products like Pocket Hose, Flexable Hose , & X-Hose, will you actually save time in the garden and space in the garage / basement or will you just stock up on a few additional laughs? And if it is only the laughs, are they worth the price of admission? Let's take a look...
Like Flexable Hose, the Pocket Hose is a collapsible garden hose that's intended to water yards while at the same time conserving storage space. It accomplishes this feat but contracting when not in use and expanding when water runs through it. The advertisements have some new pitchman storing the hose in a safari vest pocket - because the 1900s called and said those were back in style? But thems be the claims.
According to getpockethose.com, Pocket Hose claims the following features and benefits:
- pocket-sized when collapsed
- kink, twist & wrinkle proof (in theory)
- hangs / stores anywhere
- shrinks when done
- 25', 50', 75' & 100' size options
Order Process: Take your time when ordering. It's a good ole-fashioned TELEBrands order. They're high-volumed, they won't have access to the order for a day or so, and there will be a BOGO if you order from the website. It's the nature of the web offer. When ordering from the product site, you're ordering a web-offer, not a product. And then after you place your credit card information, you'll will have purchased the order and then as you go through the upsells to the summary, make sure you're pressing the "NO" or "Not at this time" button. If you're just pressing, "enter," you'll purchase the upsell items.
Product Performance: Sometimes, it's not the hose's fault. Fox News studios tried to test the Pocket Hose live on TV and they couldn't turn the faucet off. Check it out:
Another product reviewer put it to the test agaisnt the X-Hose. He recorded the results below:
They took it out for a live test during the fall.
Like the Flexable Hose , you'll have to take care of the pocket hose. Much are. After a few tries it'll stop losing it's flexibility and you'll have to wear it on your side like Indiana Jones' and his whip, but it can be fun. I wouldn't expect it for industrial use. I would let the kids garden with it. XHose is in the same boat. Apparently, the results haven't improved much since they tried to bring one out in the 90s. But the upside is that even if you don't take care of them they're good for a few laughs and it'll get the kids away from the video games. That's value in itself! Before I'd ever use a product like Dr. Ho's Back Belt, I would consult my chiropractor - who I haven't seen in awhile. What we found is that most people wouldn't take such an approach...
I would swear that the NutriBullet is just a Magic Bullet with a different plastic skin and fonts & iconography. I assume that if I want to make veggie smoothies I could just use a Magic Bullet, but apparently I can't. Or something like that. I'm still looking.
This is one of those times where my grandfather bought something he wanted to see on TV and it was a great idea. I went into the garage and click the switch when I realized the light-bulb didn't look like an ordinary light-bulb.
With so many acne products out and about, on television, on the shelves, at the impulse counter, next to the Redbox and vending machines...It's enough to make one wonder as to why the competition is so fierce. Is it because no single product works well enough? Or is it because people have a hard time telling which product works for them. Maybe Neutrogena is onto something with the SkinID.
Awesome Auger - Was It PitchMen's Billy Mays that Made it Awesome? Or was it Awesome Auger inventor Tommie Matasko and his inspiring story that lead to the Auger's invention? Please visit the As Seen on TV Life Summary Review and find out.
Before Vince came out with his copycat ShamWOW and his Time/Life operator headphones, there was a super-absorbent cloth that took care of the chills and spills your clumsy day created. And all you needed to know was that Billy Mays thought it was awesome.
