I have a friend, cute as a button. Cheerleader, gymnast, could light up the country nights with her smile and was perpetually tan despite the harshest Midwest winters.
Just recently we ran into each other at the Starbucks. She was in a rush to get to class; I was in a rush to get back to work. She found me and ran to give me a big hug. I was looking forward to the embrace until I noticed at the very last moment that on her collar was a bit of the caking of her spray on tan.
I hope I didn't give her the wrong impression when I went for kisses on the cheek, but I didn't have time to do a wardrobe change.
I keep thinking about that encounter as I read and research the reviews for Luminess Air Premium Airbrush Cosmetics...
On the official product website TryLuminessAir.com, the features & claims are pretty simple. They save most of the selling points for the video to the right. Here's a few of them:
- Hollywood quality makeup for your home!
- Dermatologist Tested & Recommended.
- Ophthamologist Tested and Approved.
- Awarded notable recognition by Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors Association.
- Praise from Better Homes & Gardens magazine:
"The kit contains an instructional DVD plus a selection of foundations. It took a little experimentation to find our shades but we enjoyed playing up the look with the spray bronzer, highlighter and shimmer (all included)."
From what we gathered, Luminess Air is an exercise in perseverance. What do we mean? From our records the product has been around since at least 2006, at least that's the date on which we found some of the earliest complaints. The biggest issue early seemed to be that some people had trouble cancelling the product during the trial period without being further billed. Here were a few more with similar complaints as well as issues with the following issue. This order processing issue seemed to mellow out through the years.
The following issue? From what more we researched we found that some people had issues with:
Some "new" members on forums came rushing to Luminess Air's defense, but, yeah, "new" members usually means, "someone from the company," so we didn't listen much to them. You can check them out at these places:
What we did listen to were some of the people who took the time to practice with the Luminess Air, who learned how to buff out the caking, who learned to clean the needle and come away feeling fresh an new with the product. Check out this girl's review in the video on the left. She took the time to figure it out, perservered and came away with both the pros & cons (she's got a future in this business).
Luminess Air is not a simple tool. If you take the time to learn how it works, practice with it you, hopefully, will come away with some rewarding results.

Before I'd ever use a product like Dr. Ho's Back Belt, I would consult my chiropractor - who I haven't seen in awhile. What we found is that most people wouldn't take such an approach...
I would swear that the NutriBullet is just a Magic Bullet with a different plastic skin and fonts & iconography. I assume that if I want to make veggie smoothies I could just use a Magic Bullet, but apparently I can't. Or something like that. I'm still looking.
This is one of those times where my grandfather bought something he wanted to see on TV and it was a great idea. I went into the garage and click the switch when I realized the light-bulb didn't look like an ordinary light-bulb.
With so many acne products out and about, on television, on the shelves, at the impulse counter, next to the Redbox and vending machines...It's enough to make one wonder as to why the competition is so fierce. Is it because no single product works well enough? Or is it because people have a hard time telling which product works for them. Maybe Neutrogena is onto something with the SkinID.
Awesome Auger - Was It PitchMen's Billy Mays that Made it Awesome? Or was it Awesome Auger inventor Tommie Matasko and his inspiring story that lead to the Auger's invention? Please visit the As Seen on TV Life Summary Review and find out.
Before Vince came out with his copycat ShamWOW and his Time/Life operator headphones, there was a super-absorbent cloth that took care of the chills and spills your clumsy day created. And all you needed to know was that Billy Mays thought it was awesome.
