Ratchet screwdrivers, or whatever you call them, are brilliant. My lack of DIY can strip the strongest of screws because I forget to push down on them. At least with a ratchet screwdriver I don't have to pull up as much. I'm wondering if the Kobalt one is build in the same mode. If it is, then maybe I get to be the one to tell my DIY best friends about a tool instead of the other way around. Okay, now I'm excited. We previously reviewed the  Double Drive Ratchet and liked what we found when we reviewed it. We're hoping that it isn't a case of lightning striking twice so much as nail-in-wall craftsmanship.

Let's find out more...

What Is the Kobalt Double Drive Screwdriver?

It's a multi-directional ratchet screwdriver which eases in the stripping and potential torquing of a device. The Kobalt Double Driver Screwdriver comes in a 29-piece which allows the device to adjust the the many shapes and sizes of screws that are on the market. The holster is so you can have that Gary Cooper feeling when you're working. 10-gallon hat sold separately.

Benefits, Claims & Features

According to kobaltdoubledrive.com, Kobalt Double Drive Screwdriver claims the following features and benefits:

  • double drive technology
  • thumb switch reverses gear
  • high torque ratchet exceeds ASME / ANSI
  • holster for storage

Does the Kobalt Double Drive Screwdriver Work? Review of Complaints, Frauds, Rip-Offs, Scams...

Order Process:  Like what we said with the ratchet, Kobalt / Lowes just pretends to be an infomercial on TV. With shift work being what it is, they're probably hitting a killer target market at night with them. That said, those used to as seen on tv / infomercial products would have little to worry about regarding Kobalt's ordering process.

Product Performance: We've read some great things about it. The double drive seems to hold up to the reputation. We can't really even report an issue. Some have questioned its commercial use but for domestic jobs and DIY it should be a great buy. Below are a video and some of the links we used to read up on the product.

Final Thoughts - What to Expect...Perhaps

Expect some awesomeness from the at-home use. If you can get into a good rhythm with the thumb button, you should be able to get a lot of work in faster than with a normal screwdriver. Kobalt is a nice line of product. So much so that we made a blog for it and are considering reviewing their whole line this summer. That should tell you what we expect of this product, their produt line and for the future of Kobalt.

Customer Service:   Depending on the store.

With so many acne products out and about, on television, on the shelves, at the impulse counter, next to the Redbox and vending machines...It's enough to make one wonder as to why the competition is so fierce. Is it because no single product works well enough? Or is it because people have a hard time telling which product works for them. Maybe Neutrogena is onto something with the SkinID.
