Pillow Pets are about to celebrate a full decade on the As Seen on TV landscape. With that kind of longevity it’s expected that it will have imitators. But with Pillow Pets, nobody expected they’d create their own genre. Who knew kids wanted transformers-y plush animals that were multi-purpose. Maybe kids are learning to stretch the value of the dollar.
In the last few months alone we’ve reviewed quite a few imitators:
- Happy Nappers: They seem to be the most successful of the bunch
- Blankid Buddy – why make it a house like Happy Nappers when you can make them into backpacks
- Pawggles: slippers. Brilliant!
But not a transformer-y blanket? That would seem to be the next logical step.

What Are CuddleUppets?
Ever have a pet that would snuggle up with you when you took a long nap on a Saturday afternoon? That’s what a CuddleUpPets is. Well, except for the part where you’d have to feed it, brush it, take it for walks, clean up after it… In this case it’s just a blanket and a plush animal. The latest in the unexpected genre of products.
Where is the difference here? Good question. We do like the fact that, if you wanted, you could get 2 for you kids where one would act as a pillow and the other can fold out into a blanket. And if you child wants the other CuddleUpPet by his head, all you have to do is switch them around. Pillow Pets didn’t offer that. And the other cool thing was the fact that the child can name them themselves. No “birth certificate,” no pre-given name with marketing that implies a cartoon show that never manifests.

Do CuddleUppets Work? Complaints, Frauds, Rip-Offs, Scams…
Order Process: Good news so far: we haven’t heard issue one with the order process. They’ve kept the process clean. $19.99 + $8.95 S&H for the first one, $16.99 + $5.99 S&H for the second one and $16.99 for the third one. And they don’t string on any additional upsells in the main offer. There are upsells but after 10 years of As Seen on TV single product web carts being on the market, it should be expected anymore.
Product Performance: These are one of those products that when it does what it’s supposed to nobody’s going to announce it but when it doesn’t, people are going to shout it from the hilltops. Why? Because it’s a glorified kids blanket. You can only mess that up in the worst of ways. Let’s not even think about it. Let’s just say at the time of this writing we hadn’t heard of any issues but if we do, we’ll get out the megaphone.
