Back when I was in Business school and had to finish a project for my advertising class, my buddy and I had to do a WalMart run so his daughter could finish doing poster boards for me. Yeah, I recruited a 12-year-old to do my graphics – and they were the best in the class.

On the way, I tried to scoop my phone out of the cupholder without turning on the interior lights. I missed, tiddly winked it across my lap and out the door. We heard it bounce about so we figured we could back up the car and use the headlights to see where it went. We’d been dry-walling all day and were too tired to bend over. Well, after I ran the phone over, to our surprise the thing worked for another 8 months till I ripped it in half after my ex-girlfriend and I got into a fight.

Had I had a Hercules Holder, I’d probably would have saved myself a few hours grief.

But, first, let’s see how much Grief Hercules Holder would save before I say yes to a product that has a eerily similar name to a Billy Mays classic: Hercules Hooks.

What Is the Hercules Holder?

It’s like Billy’s Hercules Hooks but except poking them into walls and hanging up paintings, the Hercules Holder holds most any smart phone and keeps them upright without the use of brackets, braces or additional support features. Sort of like a picture frame for a phone but stable enough to sit in your car’s cup holder…or the one at the gym on the elliptical machine note to self: the elliptical machine is calling. Get them endorphins. If you’re as dependent on your phone as I am, then you’ll see the need for this!

Benefits, Claims & Features

According to official product websites, Hercules Holder claims the following features and benefits:

  • talk hands free
  • lightweight
  • fits in most any purse, cup holder
  • great when using smartphone as GPS in car
  • works with AND without protective cases

Does Hercules Holder Work? Complaints, Frauds, Rip-Offs, Scams…

Order Process: So far we haven’t seen issues with the order process. It is a BOGO with the second one requiring P&H. Get a buddy, go in halves. Or buy one for the better half. And if your better half is your buddy, then it’s an even better value.

Product Performance: The only real complaints we saw were projections that the brackets might wear out quickly over time. But from what we read they were just projections. Otherwise, once one gets into the habit of getting into the habit with this device they should find good use out of it. Especially for those at computers all day.

Final Thoughts – What to Expect

The biggest feature for which we are fans is the fact it can stand on its own. Other comparable devices have needed brackets or braces to make it work. We’re happy to see this isn’t the case. Now, about balance – sharp stops and stops. That’s gonna be interesting. all the same, if you can sneak it in a cup holder or the like this could be fun. If Billy were he, he’d probably like it especially if he got to pitch it. He’d probably throw in some free Hercules Hooks too!

This holder is really cool. I’m happy with how it holds my iphone nice and now I have a place to put it in my car instead of in my jean pockets.  What’s also neat is the tripod feature, easy way to take steady pictures. Its a item worth having.
