It's almost hard to image that Discovery Channel's "PitchMen," has been on the air since 2009. Granted, a couple of sad and unfortunately events pushed back launch of the 2nd season, but still:  where has time gone?

And given that infomercial products typically have a shelf life of ~ 89 days, we thought we'd track them down and see if we could answer the question, "Where Are They Now?"

So Below, we've started keeping track on the status of many (if not all) of the products featured in PitchMen:

Season 2, Episode 4:  "From the Jaws of Victory"

Season 2, Episode 3:  "Bear Market"

Season 2, Episode 2:  "Heart Wrench"

Season 2, Episode 1:  "Passing the Torch"

  • Hex Light - Will an ex-marine's theory on light & night maneuvers pay off?
  • Cold Fire - Sully is "on fire" for this project. No, seriously. He sets himself on fire.
  • "A Tribute to Billy Mays" - No products featured. It was about the passing of the great man.

Season 1, Episode 12: "Revenge of the PitchMen"

  • Zorbeez - If you look real hard, you can find the occasional ZorbEEZ at Amazon.
  • Quick Chop -  Hoping to see another product push for it.

Season 1, Episode 11:  "Crunch Time"

  • Gator Blades - Not the lawnmower blade, but Billy May's windshield wipers. Never survived the initial launch.
  • EZ Crunch Bowl - Looks like they're still taking user feedback & suggestions.
  • Mighty Shine - looks like it's out of season-ish

Season 1, Episode 10:  "Tale of Three Billys"

  • "Turn, Don't Burn" - Billy Mays, Sr.'s surprising promising rotisserie tanning product doesn't seem to be available...yet.
  • Green Now - It ran for a bit. Can't find it right now. Hope it returns in the Spring.
  • Ragazzi's Restaurant - It's still running.

Season 1, Episode 9:  "Grater Education"

  • Grater Plater - It's still out and about.
  • Mighty Putty Wood - The product didn't test but it's hard to find.

Season 1, Episode 8:  "Digging for Dollars"

Season 1, Episode 7:  "Spinning Green"

  • Spin Gym- Forbes Riley 's head is probably still spinning regarding why this didn't sell better. Always listen to Billy!

Season 1, Episode 6:  "Tool Guys"

  • Tool Band-It - DIYs are still putting this little handy gadget on their sleeve to keep track of their accessories
  • Grabit - Can't get that screw out? Try the Grabit.

Season 1, Episode 5:  "Spotting Talent"

  • Spot Sucker - It's probably still in R&D - if it's still being tracked.
  • Heel Stick / Heeltastic - Even better than Heeltastic? Putting it together with a Ped Egg

Season 1, Episode 4:  "Smells Like Gold"

  • The Vertical Grill - There's a Mike's Veritical Grill out there, but we don't believe it's the same.
  • What Odor? - The price was higher than I expected, but I hope that means it works that much better.

Season 1, Episode 3:  "From the Jaws of Victory"

  • Jupiter Jack - Jupiter Jack's surprise breakthrough invention.
  • SharkStopper - It was effective enough to stop billy and sully from pitching it.

Season 1, Episode 2:  "Dual Saw Shuffle"

  • Dual Saw - The 2009 Product of the year is now in a Quad Force.
  • Shuffles - I'm guessing it's still in R&D...sorta...

Season 1, Episode 1:  "High Impact Item""

  • Impact Gel - It was off to such a good start. Now I can't find it anywhere.

Decompressing w/ Dr. Ho's Back Belt [Review] - (I could have said, "pimpin' ").

Before I'd ever use a product like Dr. Ho's Back Belt, I would consult my chiropractor - who I haven't seen in awhile. What we found is that most people wouldn't take such an approach...

I would swear that the NutriBullet is just a Magic Bullet with a different plastic skin and fonts & iconography. I assume that if I want to make veggie smoothies I could just use a Magic Bullet, but apparently I can't. Or something like that. I'm still looking.

Neutrogena SkinID [Review] - Free Skin ID Evaluation

With so many acne products out and about, on television, on the shelves, at the impulse counter, next to the Redbox and vending machines...It's enough to make one wonder as to why the competition is so fierce. Is it because no single product works well enough? Or is it because people have a hard time telling which product works for them. Maybe Neutrogena is onto something with the SkinID.
