Getting kids to keep their space clean is a pain in the ass. Hell, getting my fiance to clean is a pain in the ass. For all her wonderful qualities, domestic organization isn’t among them.

When I was little we had 9 of us in a 800 sq. foot house next to my paternal grandparent’s. That lasted for about a year. Aside from his in-ground pool in the back, we didn’t have much in the way of discretionary income. What we did have was a maternal grandmother with a sweet tooth and an old electric ice cream churner. The best was when the strawberries would ripen in the garden. The only issue I had with it was that it would take forever for that ice cream to make.
