At the time of this writing, it's freezing cold outside. I feel like Bob Cratchit ("A Christmas Carol"); 'thinking of stealing coal from Scrooge. So when we came across the Automatic Fire Extinguisher by Grotto, I threw my hand up and volunteered because: 1) I heard the word "fire," 2) I needed to get the circulation back into my hands. It wasn't till I looked at the product that I realized the Automatic Fire Extinguisher is designed to extinguish the very heat I crave. So it goes. To the Claims...
Also known as the Automatic Fire Ball, Grotto's Automatic Fire Extinguisher's claims are pretty simple: If the temperature around the ball reaches 158°F / 70°C, the ball explodes. In most cases, the ball extinguishes any fire within a 10' radius..up, down, left or right... According to AutomaticFireBallSale.com, the list of features and claims include:
- Fully Automatic with no pins to pull or triggers to depress
- Non-Toxic for humans, pets, and the environment
- Portable – Only 2 lbs.
- Effective for wood, grease, chemical, and electrical fires
- Peace of mind, 24/7 and 365 days a year!
- Can be mounted to the wall or placed on the floor
- No yearly inspections required
- 3 year shelf life
- Use on wood, grease, chemical and electrical fires
- All natural and non-toxic dry powder is safe for you, your pets and the environment
- Mounted on a wall, place the Automatic Fire Extinguisher near any potential fire hazard.
They also recommend placing one in your car, on camping trips (but not too close to the flame), in different areas of your house...H'mm, maybe I'll take it to the beach and have it cool people off when it gets too hot :-P (Thinking warm).
Here's the double-edged sword: we're not finding much (at this time). We know people identify the product by 2 different names: "Fire Ball," & "Fire Extinguisher," but we're not finding much under either name. We found complaints for a Fireball Tech company and other products named Fire Ball - but none of them fire-related. We don't have the courage to say there isn't any out there because this is a safety product. As Anthony Sullivan said on PitchMen, "Nobody buys a fire extinguisher until their house burns down."
The other side of the sword: we didn't find any research that shows how effective it is - aside from the product claims. Not that that's a bad thing. We did find that Peter Grotto, the one for which the product is named, has an A+ rating from the BBB .
We did find a selection of state fire marshal videos from the state of Idaho during our research. Not that they were helpful or harmful, but we noticed that many of them were still in VHS . That was all :-)
Now, if only they painted the thing either green, red or gold for the holiday season!

Before I'd ever use a product like Dr. Ho's Back Belt, I would consult my chiropractor - who I haven't seen in awhile. What we found is that most people wouldn't take such an approach...
I would swear that the NutriBullet is just a Magic Bullet with a different plastic skin and fonts & iconography. I assume that if I want to make veggie smoothies I could just use a Magic Bullet, but apparently I can't. Or something like that. I'm still looking.
This is one of those times where my grandfather bought something he wanted to see on TV and it was a great idea. I went into the garage and click the switch when I realized the light-bulb didn't look like an ordinary light-bulb.
With so many acne products out and about, on television, on the shelves, at the impulse counter, next to the Redbox and vending machines...It's enough to make one wonder as to why the competition is so fierce. Is it because no single product works well enough? Or is it because people have a hard time telling which product works for them. Maybe Neutrogena is onto something with the SkinID.
Awesome Auger - Was It PitchMen's Billy Mays that Made it Awesome? Or was it Awesome Auger inventor Tommie Matasko and his inspiring story that lead to the Auger's invention? Please visit the As Seen on TV Life Summary Review and find out.
Before Vince came out with his copycat ShamWOW and his Time/Life operator headphones, there was a super-absorbent cloth that took care of the chills and spills your clumsy day created. And all you needed to know was that Billy Mays thought it was awesome.
